Have you ever noticed that right at the epicentre of a disagreement, say with your Partner or someone else close to you, there will be a gap; both sides temporarily disconnected in a kind of no-mans landscape.
One of the parties may take the ‘lull in activity’ to mean a temporary cessation of conflict – even professing to have won the battle! But not for long! In a moment the two parties lurch back to the epicentre of the conflict and continue spouting nonsense, threats and self-proclaimed victory! There is, however, no time to proclaim victory at this rate, for this is a God-given moment to be still and let God be God.
IN OTHER WORDS, SHUT-UP AND LET GOD SPEAK!
He may bring a word of encouragement, conviction, understanding or revelation! Whatever you feel, remain right there in the intensity of the moment and allow God to do His ‘Thing! Eventually you will feel The Lords peace, ‘the peace that passes understanding.’ This is His grace indeed; and your opportunity to allow His full work take it’s place as you thank Him for His kindness.
If you don’t know what you want, you will probably end up either doing nothing or doing what others want you to do; which maybe ok, or not!
By default our wants and needs will gravitate towards the easy option; for example, staying in that low paid job, Ministry, Church, Relationship etc,. even though we may be wanting more out of our relationship with the Lord.
What are we to do then in oder to fulfil that sense of purpose and destiny in our hearts?
On the one hand we don’t want to behave in a presumptuous manner , but on the other hand neither do we want to miss it!
In the Book of Mark: 10.51, Jesus asked His Disciples a simple question – “What do you want me to do for you?Until our desire’s come from the heart they have no power to fulfil our purpose.
Although Jesus would have known the answer to His own question, He needed His Disciples to speak out loud what they’d heard Him say. Similarly He’s waiting for us too!
My mother was born in an upstairs room of the family Cafe business in Birmingham UK. She had a small bedroom and plentiful friends running in and out of the cafe. Her father was very much the figure-head of the enterprise, reigning and ruling over the siblings and my over-worked Mother. He presided over the Cafe, Restaurant, B&B and a solicit Gambling Table; in other words a Bookies! which was frequented by his cronies at any hour of the day or night.
They all worked hard for the sake of each other and a legacy they would leave behind. There was much joy and purpose being involved with the ‘Family Affair.’ And they were developing skills that would be passed on to future ‘siblings.’
To put it in today’s context, they were Coaching each other in ‘Self-sufficiency’ The fruits of which still reverberate today.

Each of of has has a unique Gift fashioned and designed exactly for us alone. It is as individual to us as is our thumb print. And no power in Heaven or Earth can stand against it, nor nullify it.
These God ordained Gifts enables Him to fulfil His purpose and plan for each one of us.It is through us, His people, that He is able to ‘Moves Mountains.’ Through prayer and patience He Heals the sick and brings down unjust Dictators, etc,.
My Mother in Law has a simple yet powerful Gift to encourage folk who are struggling in any area of life; it’s as simple as welcoming the Holy Spirit, opening her mouth and praying. And she will continue un-bated in prayer, until the issue is resolved – no matter how inconvenient it is. She just loves it..!
My own Gifting, I think, is the ability and passion for making-up spontaneous words to gentle music, say during Ministry. I find myself reciting Scripture and prophetic utterance. It’s not that I’d planned it that way, it is simply the Holy Spirit joining in with us, or should I say me joining with Him.
Cafe Culture in the heart of Birmingham, during the 1920’s
My mother lived in a Cafe on the edge of Birmingham City Centre, UK. She was born and raised there along with her Brother, her Mother, her Parents in law and Grand Parents.
The “Park Cafe” was, from all accounts, a well patronised ‘Hub’ on the east side of Birmingham city centre, close to the famous Football Club – Aston Villa.
Business Travellers, Merchants, Shoppers and Mothers would while away their time in the warm and comforting establishment, along with their young children ‘skiving-off’ school on such cold and polluted days. Many little friends and dolls were lost and made under those tables.
My Great Grand Father owned the Cafe and his long suffering wife ran it. She worked night and day to keep the establishment viable whilst her Husband gambled away the profits doing questionable deals with his cronies.
Toasted Tea Cakes would have been prepared hours before the Cafe’s doors opened along with great pans of Soup and Bread. Meanwhile Silver Urns of Tea and Cakes would have graced the Travelling Salesmen, interspersed with great drawers of cigarette smoke.
My Grand Father was one of four sons, each of whom would have been known for their excesses. There was my Grand Father who was a Gambler (An unlucky one by all accounts!) Another son a wheeler-Dealer. Then there was the Artist, a thin young man given to fears and illnesses! The fourth of the son’s was an Adventurer; a day-dreamer who was convinced his fortune and future was as a Writer & Producer of films in the burgeoning West Coast of America. I have caught a glimpse of his name from time to time but am not sure this is truly the destiny of one of my English ancestors (although I would love to think he is!)

“What is the Vision for my Business?”
With pen and paper to hand I begin crafting a New Year’s Resolution concerning my ‘Christian Coaching Ministry.’ Initially I make a weak attempt to plan for 5 new clients every week; which means I would need to increase my Marketing activity by 50%
Is that possible? Yes, but only with a lot of hard work! … Or a miracle!
A little dis-heartened I sit back in my chair to peruse my environment. I’m seated in a favorite Cafe. Conversation’s flow freely here among the clicking of Lap Tops and clatter of coffee machines. It’s a place of comfort and inspiration. And yet, I’m still stuck! Eventually, my eyes are drawn to a chalked Black Board sign that reads – “Coffee doesn’t ask silly questions – Coffee Understands”
How often I sought the comfort of coffee, and the atmosphere that goes with it. But I now see that it’s not the false comfort of coffee nor the people that I hanker after but of the presence of God. For He alone is the Vision for my Business.
From the Bible’s perspective, miracles are gracious and mighty works of God that display his unique power and dominion over all creation. They are “gracious” because God in his mercy chooses to reveal himself supernaturally in a way that displays his willingness to interact with mankind.
Biblical miracles serve to authenticate God’s messengers. Some miracles demonstrate God’s salvation, others his judgment.
But right now you are probably wondering how to receive your miracle of healing or miracle of financial provision, etc. You may relate to my own experience of receiving a miracle below.
Testimony: When I became a Christian I began smoking cigarettes like I’d never smoked before. I was virtually chain-smoking. I did everything to quit smoking. I’d buy a pack if 20 cigarettes, smoke them one after the other than get so angry with myself I’d flush half the packet down the toilet. 30 minutes later, Id leave my Apartment and walk to the local ‘All Night’ Store and smoke cigarettes one after the other. I was frantic with shame, terribly un-healthy and fearful.
One night, again smoking one cigarette after the other I prayed for deliverance (for the 10th time that month) and right there in the quietness of night I suddenly received my miracle. In a moment I was free. Every thing went quiet and I knew I was delivered of nicotine addiction! Twenty years later I’m still totally free. Praise God.
I have no Spiritual formula other than to say that Jesus will never leave you nor forsake you. Just keep praying, seeking and expecting your miracle. It is on its’ way!

As Human Beings we instinctively expect to be honoured and to be made to matter.
No matter what our status or position in life; nor creed nor colour, the fact is that we are made in the image of God the Father. And somewhere in the depth of our heart we know it!
Whereas the ‘world’ would seek to honour those of high status, fame and fortune, God’s heart is for the lost, the broken, humble and rejected. To ignore their fate would be a crime against our Creator. Especially where this goes on in the Body of Christ.
The very fact that we have been given free will to choose to love what God loves and to hate what He hates is ample evidence of our identity in God our Creator.
This is of course a heart matter and one we must firstly receive directly from Father God with all reverence and humility.
To honour one another in the Body of Christ is to:
1. Give each person a chance to express their Gifts & Talents, 2. Not compare one with another in the church- nor with the World. 3. Explain why some people are perceived to not having an anointing to Minister. 4. Work with those Individuals to help them to discover their true talent and gifting. 5. Be honest and open as to where these Individuals are currently
We so long to step out in faith and bring the Kingdom of Heaven into situations and circumstances affecting our lives. But somehow we just seem to hit a brick wall! Thankfully the Word of God tells us how to overcome every obstruction.
Although we are encouraged to pray more, to rebuke the ‘Devour’ and to declare Scripture that affirms our God-given rights; there’s still something missing!
Frustrated and disappointed we throw our hands into the air concluding that it’s all our own fault and that we are stuck due to a lack of faith (or some other sin that is blocking our prayers.) And so we repent more and we pray more.
Result: Condemnation and failure!
But I have good news for you, this is the exact place where The Lord wants us – fully emptied of ourselves and fully dependant upon Him. For it is in Him, Jesus alone, that we “can do all things through Christ that strengthens us.” It is His strength, not our strength that open’s doors that no man can open; so that we have the opportunity to become more and more like Him – growing in the power of His might.
Paul the Apostle put’s it this way: “For in Him dwells all the fullness of the Godhead bodily: and you are complete in Him,who is the head of all principality and power. (Col 2:9-10)
Is there a vision or a dream you are yet to fulfill; a passion that has not yet seen the light of day?
You may say, “it’s just too difficult to even begin doing something positive with my idea. There’s always so much going on, how do I find time to work on my Dream? It’s just an idea anyway! And there’s plenty of ideas out there these days. Who in their right mind would take my idea on anyway? There’s no real substance to it – just wishful thinking!”
Yes, at this stage it is just wishful thinking. Every great idea has to start somewhere.
As a young man , living with my parents in a large urban sprawl in the UK I had a dream of living by the seaside. I saw myself surfing, having fun and running my own business and playing my guitar in restaurants and cafe’s. It was a dream so far from the reality of my life I might as well dreamed of being the first person on the Moon! But I was unperturbed. I would draw pictures and pictures of my future life and pin them on my bedroom wall. I saw, in my ‘minds-eye’ the small Devonshire community I would be living amongst. I saw the house I’d be living in and the office I’d be working from. In my minds-eye I was running a graphic design and print agency. I saw myself singing in local Restaurants, Pubs and Clubs. I would meditate upon my new life over and over again. In fact it became so real in my heart it just ‘had to’ come about!
A year or so later I was living the exact dream; and loving every minute of it! . But is this ‘Biblical’ you might ask? Or is it simply New Age? In the Bible The LORD had said to Abram, “Go from your country, your people and your father’s household to the land I will show you (Genesis 12) He had to see it by faith in his heart before he saw it by sight.
Again the Bible say;s “For as he thinks in his heart, so is he” (Prov 23:7) Question: Is this the missing key in your prayer life? If so, begin to seek the Lord for His plans and purpose for your life. Read again the exploits God’s people and marvel at what God did through them because they believed.
Do you have a Dream or Vision to Fulfil? Or if not, maybe you could ask Him.
As a Christian Life Coach I get numerous folk wanting to move forward in various aspects of their life, but find themselves Stuck!
They have plans to pursue new careers, to take up hobbies, fitness regimes or become more involved in their church, expressing the Gifts and Talents God has graced them with.
Their intentions are honourable; but meanwhile the Enemy of our soul is rubbing his hands in absolute glee to see God’s people paralysed by such inaction!
I should know; I’ve been there…
I did however discover that the solution to my ‘Stuck-ness!’ was not to dig around trying to undo all the strands leading to ‘Stuck-ness!’ but instead – to dig around in my own soul to find whether Jesus, The Word, is in control and that I am living my life through Him and Him and not Me! Now there’s a challenge!
The Bible put’s it this way –
“I have been crucified with Christ; it is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me; and the life I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave His life for me.” Galatians, 3:3
The Lord know’s exactly what He wants for each one of us. It is only through living by faith in Him that we know His perfect will and purpose for our lives.
Bottom line …. He’s not stuck and neither are we – In Him.
